Well, you can certainly do so, but you might be paying a bit more than you think. A draft budget law that&#8217;s currently in France&#8217;s parliament would <strong>double the penalty the consumers pay based on carbon-dioxide emissions<\/strong>, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-10-09\/porsche-and-ferrari-face-59-000-tax-on-gas-guzzlers-in-france\">Bloomberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In some cases, these penalties could reach as high as <strong>\u20ac50,000 ($59,000) in 2022<\/strong>. In this new plan vehicles that emit more than 225 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer will be taxed at a rate of \u20ac40,000 ($47,255) in 2021, and that number will increase in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>So what cars could get hit? To name just a few, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/2019-lamborghini-urus-wallpapers\/\">Lamborghini Urus<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/2013-lamborghini-aventador-lp720-4-50th-anniversario-wallpapers\/\">Aventador<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/road-review-of-the-porsche-718-spyder-by-carfection\/\">Porsche 718 Spyder<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/for-sale-1991-porsche-911-carrera-2\/\">911<\/a>, Rolls-Royce Ghost and Cullinan, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/new-bentley-flying-spur-w12-s-200-plus-mph-four-door-luxury-missile\/\">Bentley Flying Spur<\/a>, several Mercedes-AMG and G-Class models, and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/2018-ferrari-portofino-the-affordable-everyday-supercar\/\">Ferrari Portofino<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/possible-ferrari-812-superfast-gto-in-the-works\/\">812 Superfast<\/a>. Plenty of others could face the same fate, too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThis would be relatively bad news for supercars, luxury, and exclusive vehicles, and a show stopper for foreign imported cars,\u201d<\/strong> Jato Dynamics analyst Felipe Munoz said, adding that high-volume SUVs could be under threat in France from the levy.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of this writing, the law has not gone through parliament. However, if it does it could add <strong>significant pressure<\/strong> to the auto industry. This pressure comes from the European Union\u2019s 2030 Climate Target Plan.
