We all knew the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series<\/a> was a fast car. I mean, the thing has 720 hp. That said, I don’t think many expected it to be as fast as it is. The car beat the lap time around Hockenheim set by Porsche.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The GT Black Series managed to lap the circuit in 1 minute and 43.3 seconds<\/strong>. That’s 0.2 seconds faster than the GT2 RS MR, according to The Supercar Blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n The good folks at Sport Auto recently posted a video of the Black Series doing its thing around the racetrack. The car looks wicked fast, sounds awesome, and is just really impressive both on the straights and in the corners.\u00a0As you can see in the video below, the car rockets around the racetrack with beautiful composure.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n This helps prove that Mercedes-AMG has a true challenger to Porsche’s 911. The Black Series is a beast of a machine, and it’s so much more than a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that puts out 720 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.
