This morning, Porsche had a live stream to unveil the latest iteration of the 911 GT3 here are the details from the event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new GT3 does have some newly added features but will mostly remain the same. This is great news for Porsche fans as there was never anything wrong with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/2021-porsche-type-992-911-gt3-spied-at-the-nordschleife-gallery\/\">GT3<\/a> in the first place. The 2022 911 GT3 will receive a new front suspension setup consisting of unequal-length control arms instead of conventional struts.\u00a0The GT3\u2019s suspension setup was influenced by the 2013 911 RSR race car. This setup provides better tire contact through turns and when the suspension compresses and rebounds. Porsche\u2019s new adaptive dampers are capable of adjusting every 10 milliseconds, which means the spring rates have doubled without affecting the ride quality of the GT3.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Suspension.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-393263\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Suspension.jpg\" alt=\"2022 Porsche GT3 Suspension\" width=\"980\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Suspension.jpg 980w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Suspension-300x184.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Suspension-100x61.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Suspension-770x471.jpg 770w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Suspension-293x179.jpg 293w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new GT3 will also come sporting some aggressive aerodynamics capable of 150 percent more downforce than the previous model. Both front and rear aero are fully adjustable and are able to be adjusted to one of four positions, manually. The aerodynamics of the new GT3 was able to secure a sub-7-minute lap time on the Nurburgring.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-13.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-393255\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-13.jpg\" alt=\"2022 Porsche GT3 Aerodynamics\" width=\"980\" height=\"599\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-13.jpg 980w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-13-300x183.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-13-100x61.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-13-770x471.jpg 770w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-13-293x179.jpg 293w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Porsche has continued the use of a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter 9A1 flat-six in the 2022 GT3. Porsche also mentioned they did not have to put the GT3 through any \u201csound engineering\u201d as the engine\u2019s sound was already perfect. Thanks to the independent throttle bodies and a 9,000-rpm rev-limiter, the GT3 will have a snappy 502 horsepower at 8400 rpm and 346 lb-ft of torque.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Side.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-393261\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Side.jpg\" alt=\"2022 Porsche GT3 Side\" width=\"980\" height=\"599\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Side.jpg 980w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Side-300x183.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Side-100x61.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Side-770x471.jpg 770w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2022-Porsche-GT3-Side-293x179.jpg 293w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Porsche has also continued the use of the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic PDK transmission from the previous GT3 model, which saves about 40 pounds in comparison to the eight-speed transmission from other 992-generation models. It will have an updated gear selector along with shift paddles. But if you\u2019d like a more hands-on approach, Porsche will offer the new GT3 with a six-speed manual transmission. Porsche announced zero to 60 times of just 3.2-seconds with its PDK transmission and 3.7-seconds with the manual transmission.
