However, the model, having won the previous\u00a0two 24-hour races, cemented its hat trick by achieving an overwhelming 1st through 4th and 6th-place result at the 1957 event. Because the factory had retired from racing at the end of 1956, the flag was carried by privateers in 1957, albeit with works assistance. The Scottish team Ecurie Ecosse repeated their\u00a0previous year\u2019s victory and scored a convincing 1-2 with the Flockhart\/Bueb car (XKD606) winning from the sister car of Sanderson\/Lawrence (XKD603).
