The 2022 model year of the Audi TT RS will mark the final year this high performance, smaller size two-door sportscar from Audi will be available on the United States market, to celebrate this farewell of the legendary five-cylinder engine and bid farewell to the pinnacle performance of a design icon in the U.S. there will be a limited edition model available in five specific heritage colors.<\/p>\n

Hence the name Audi TT RS Heritage Edition for this production run of just 50 units (10 for each color), and while the TT and TTS models will remain available in the US, the TT RS will be removed from the offerings after 2022, but not until we see 5 different heritage color combinations for one last time. The choice of exterior and interior colors has been inspired by the Audi Ur-Quattro, the legendary 4wd rally monster that was powered by the famous Audi five-cylinder engine, a modern interpretation of that engine is now fitted to the high-performance Audi TT RS.<\/p>\n

As mentioned, there will be 50 units of this Audi TT RS Heritage Edition, 10 of each in the following combination: Alpine White with Ocean Blue leather and Diamond Silver stitch, Helios Blue metallic Diamond Silver leather and Ocean Blue stitch, Stone Gray metallic with Crimson Red leather and Jet Gray stitch, Tizian Red metallic with Havanna Brown leather and Jet Gray stitch, and last but not least, Malachite Green metallic with Cognac Brown leather and Black stitch.<\/p>\n

Some of these interior combinations are available for the first time in the United States, and all of them come from the Audi Exclusive portfolio, being a limited edition model, these 50 TT RS will all come with a “HERITAGE EDITION”<\/em> script complete with the firing order of the five-cylinder engine “1-2-4-5-3”<\/em> and the “Quattro”<\/em> script etched into the rear quarter glass on the right side of each car.<\/p>\n

As usual with an end-of-the-line model, this Heritage Edition comes with a plethora of usually optional equipment as standard fitment like the 20-inch 5-spoke cutter design wheels in bi-color anthracite finish, an Alcantara covered steering wheel with 12 o\u2019clock marker in leather color-matched to the seats, an Alcantara covered shift lever,\u00a0 Alu-optic exterior elements including the mirror housings, OLED taillights, RS logo floor mats with contrast stitching, the Sport exhaust with black tips, and finally the Electric spoiler \/ rear wing delete.<\/p>\n

The five-cylinder engine in the Audi TT RS comes with a serious legacy, firmly cemented into Audi’s DNA, especially the Audi Sport branch, taking countless victories both in the rally and on the track, for instance in IMSA GTO and at the Nuerburgring in the legendary 24-hour race, this unit even earned the “International Engine of the Year Award”<\/em> nine times in a row since 2010. This legendary engine was used inside the Ur-Quattro coupe in the 1980s and was found in only two U.S. market Audi cars over the last few years, the TT RS Coupe and the RS 3 Sedan, remaining one of Audi’s more potent units with 394 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque propelling the TT RS Coupe from 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.<\/p>\n

As a matter of fact, the famous five-cylinder engine made a comeback to the US market after an online petition in 2011, when Audi of America exhibited a signed petition on Facebook to bring the first-generation TT RS to the U.S. market, resulting in an astounding 12,000 signatures in just one month, the famous engine would make a comeback in 2012 after a hiatus of 30 years in the USA, but the Audi TT RS would only be offered in the US for two years, from 2012 to 2013 and only about 1,200 units would be available to keep them very exclusive, all with a six-speed manual gearbox, making it the last RS model ever with a manual.<\/p>\n

2022 will be the final year the Audi TT RS is available to US customers, celebrating 10 years on this market, and while the TT RS will stay listed on other markets for a few more years, this final version will be available from early 2022 on, prices are set at $73,200 for the MY2022 Audi TT RS while a premium will be asked for the TT RS Heritage Edition at $81,450 … also note the famous five-cylinder engine will make a comeback to the US market in the soon to be released Audi RS 3.<\/p>\n
