The latest GT3 R continues its race car bloodline into the current 992-generation, where it will again sit above the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/porsche-911-992-gt3-cup-an-in-depth-look\/\">GT3 Cup<\/a> in terms of performance (and also price).<\/p>\n<p>It also becomes the gold standard for factory 911 race cars, with the now-retired <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/2018-porsche-911-rsr-porsches-mid-engined-911-race-car\/\">Porsche 911 RSR<\/a> not yet having a successor waiting in the wings. Homologated for competition in the GT3 class, the new GT3 R will be raced in series such as IMSA, WEC and eventually the 24 Hours of Le Mans.<\/p>\n<p>Like in previous iterations, the GT3 R improves upon the GT3 Cup in every imaginable way. This includes what you&#8217;d typically expect, with more aerodynamics, an improved suspension geometry, fatter tires, optimized electronic aids\u2014and not least of all, more power\u2014responsible for the overall transformation.<\/p>\n<h2>GT3 RS Clues &amp; Insights<\/h2>\n<p>Speaking of power, Porsche have thrown a bit of an Easter egg our way with a simple photo\u2014along with verbal confirmation\u2014indicating the new GT3 R will come equipped with a high-revving 4.2L flat-6 engine which produces 565 hp.
