Collecting Cars<\/a> is currently offering a rare and beautiful example of a quintessential 1990s supercar: a\u00a0 1994 Lamborghini Diablo VT.<\/p>\n

The Diablo VT, a four-wheel drive evolution of the Diablo, well not exactly, the VT stood for \u2018Viscous Traction\u2019, and meant that part of the power could be moved to the front wheels, when the rear ones lost their grip.<\/p>\n

However, that was not the only difference between the Diablo and the Diablo VT, the latter became much more refined than the earlier 2 Wheel Drive version. On the VT the exterior rear view mirrors were finished in the body color, but these modifications would also appear on the \u2018normal\u2019 Diablo according to Automobili Lamborghini SpA, although it was rumored in 1994 that the two-wheel drive Diablo production would be halted in favor of the VT type, fortunately this didn\u2019t happen until late 1998, when another evolution of the Diablo was presented.<\/p>\n

On the inside the Diablo VT got a redesigned dashboard, the big block in the \u2018old\u2019 Diablo was removed and a smaller, more refined one was used for the VT, but in the latter it was fixed, while in the early Diablo it could be adjusted in height, when using the necessary tools.<\/p>\n

Less well visible changes included the engine, as it still carries the same naturally aspirated 5.7-litre V12 from the base Diablo that can produce up to 492 bhp @ 7,000 rpm and paired to a five-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. This time though the Diablo VT’s engine is\u00a0 surrounded by a carbon fiber case placed in the engine compartment, also the entire appearance of the engine was made neater with a nice cover over the manifolds. The timing system was improved to reduce the noise and the engine was kept cooler by redesigning the air intakes.\u00a0 The brakes on the VT were also upgraded, to four piston Brembo units instead of the earlier two-piston units.<\/p>\n

As a result, the Diablo VT was easier to handle, the \u2018normal\u2019 Diablo suffered from over steer when cornering at its limit, but on the VT the steering became much more neutral, less demanding.<\/p>\n

Our exotic currently offered for sale on Collecting Cars<\/a> is one of the 400 Diablo VT units ever made and has accumulated 40,093 kms under two private owners. The car is finished in Silver Mist that’s been described by the seller in superb condition except for very minor chips and scratches on some parts. The black leather interior is also in great shape with no signs of major wear and tear.<\/p>\n

This Diablo VT is fitted with desirable factory specifications that includes factory specification includes pop-up headlights, electric windows, climate control, an analogue clock, and an Alpine cassette stereo and sound system.<\/p>\n

This Lamborghini Diablo VT is a rare and highly original example of the coveted 1990s supercar, offered in excellent condition throughout. This Diablo VT still remains to this day as one of Lamborghini’s most iconic cars thanks to its impressive naturally aspirated V12 engine, astounding body design, and impressive every day usability. It should make for a nice addition to any collection of iconic sports cars and a car show companion that will surely grab the grab the attention of the public wherever it goes.
