The Hennessey Venom F5 is a low-slung hypercar \u2014 named after the highest rating on the Fujita scale of tornado strength\u2014is gunning for the title of the world\u2019s fastest production car. To do that, though, it will not only have to crack the magical 300 mph barrier but also best the 304.773 mph time set by the Bugatti Chiron SuperSport 300+<\/a>\u00a0back in August 2019.<\/p>\n

It is equipped with\u00a0a 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that puts out a thumping 1,817 hp and 1193 lb-ft of torque. It is important to note that the Venom F5\u2019s power output is also at least 240 hp more than what\u2019s put out by the Bugatti Chiron SuperSport 300+.<\/p>\n

Last year, Hennessey Performance tested the Venom F5 as their way of giving us an update on their progress as they attempt to make it the world’s fastest production car. It’s worth noting that the Venom F5 is still under development, so it’d be exciting to see it finally breaking the 300 mph barrier. But for now, let’s watch it easily break over 270 mph on a high-speed test run.<\/p>\n
