After over a decade of production for the Lamborghini Aventador flagship, last week the general public finally got to see the brand new Revuelto for the first time, VIP showings had been going on for a while, and many of those that are already in the order book have seen the car before most of us, first as a static prototype, but later in a close to final production stage, and let’s not forget the countless spy shots we’ve been seeing all over the internet for months leading up to the end of March 2023 when the first hybrid Lamborghini production car was finally unveiled at the factory in Sant’Agata.<\/p>\n

And make no mistake, this is a brand new Lamborghini, many might look at it and decide it’s just another re-bodied Aventador, it looks too much like the Si\u00e1n, the limited edition homage to Ferdinand Pi\u00ebch that came with the classic 6.5-Liter V12 and an electric motor powered from a supercapacitor sitting behind the seats, but you are wrong, the new Lamborghini Revuelto still has a V12 engine, and yes, it’s still has a displacement of 6.5-Liter, but it’s a completely new engine compared to the Aventador unit, most importantly it has been turned around by 180\u00b0, and more importantly, comes with no less than three electric motors, two of them powering the front wheels alone … if you drive the Revuelto with the ICE alone, you’re in a rear wheel drive V12 beast, but you can also switch to four-wheel-drive all-electric mode … for about 10km or so, but still.<\/p>\n

And we already received confirmation this is just the start, a 1,000+ hp supercar car, some might call it a PHEV, but Lamborghini calls it the HPEV for “High Performance Electrified Vehicle”, <\/em>and we know there will be a more powerful version in the near future, probably called the SV for Super Veloce, but that’s not the first derivate we’ll be seeing after the first clients start to receive their custom made Revuelto by the end of 2023 according to the official Lamborghini dealers, at the time of writing the pre-production models are being completed on the Linea Revuelto in Sant’Agata, the assembly line visitors were allowed to visit last week during the reveal. These pre-production cars will be handed over to VIP clients, members of the press, and finally social media influencers, a kind of dynamic launch that should happen during the Summer of 2023.<\/p>\n

After the pre-production run, Lamborghini will start assembly of the dealer demonstrator units for the Revuelto, probably most of them finished in the same color and option spec, most likely a few different combinations, but all of them more or less alike, so clients can already admire the car on the showroom floor, and possibly even experience driving it for a short while, these dealer units are not to be sold mind you, the first actual customer cars will only be built in Q4 of 2023 with delivery by the end of the year, early 2024 … and then it’s time to prepare for the next step in the Revuelto evolution … the Roadster version, and I’ve already created a virtual look on how this new topless flagship from Sant’Agata might look,\u00a0 an exclusive for Supercars.net.<\/p>\n
