Porsche only produced two original 911 Speedsters,<\/a> one of which was specifically made for Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the designer of the 911. The second one was commissioned by Jerry Seinfeld.<\/p>\n

Gunther Werks,<\/a> however, \u00a0offers a very interesting option for enthusiasts out there and it based on perhaps the rarest and most desirable 911 of them all, the 993 Speedster. While these Gunther Werks versions come at a considerable price, they do make these sleek, open-top vehicles somewhat more attainable for super rich individuals.<\/p>\n

The Gunther Werks Speedster is motivated by a 4.0-liter flat-six engine generating an impressive 435 horsepower (324 kilowatts) and 335 pound-feet (454 Newton-meters) of torque. With a redline at 7,800 rpm, the engine delivers power to the rear differential via a Getrag G50 6-speed manual transmission featuring custom gear ratios. The rear differential is equipped with a carbon clutch that locks to 40 percent.<\/p>\n

With the exception of the doors, nearly all body panels on the Gunther Werks Speedster are constructed from lightweight carbon fiber. The vehicle boasts shocks with external reservoirs and a hydraulic nose lift system for added convenience. The braking system consists of Brembo six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear. Completing the package, the Speedster rolls on three-piece forged aluminum wheels sporting a timeless five-spoke design reminiscent of the iconic Fuchs style.<\/p>\n
