\"\"<\/a>Ever since my VRJ colleague, Pete Lyons, reminisced about his early trips to and \u2018round the Nurburgring in the March 1999 issue, I\u2019ve been waiting for the chance to indulge myself in a little bit of similar nostalgia \u2013 maybe with a touch of one-upmanship mixed in!<\/p>\n

In early November, the chance to do this presented itself. Like lucky-friend Lyons, I get the chance to drive, and occasionally race, other people\u2019s cars. A telephone call from Belgium was an invitation to participate in the last race of the Millennium at the Nurburgring, and the last chance to be there before the old pits were torn down and replaced.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
