Not only had Trintignant driven Grand Prix cars and sports cars before and after the war, but he is also one of the last surviving drivers of the classic era in motor racing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>At the age of 82, Trintignant looked somewhat frail, (according to photographer Bernard Cahier he hadn\u2019t been well). Even though he often needed a helping hand, he nevertheless went out onto the daunting Monaco street circuit where he had triumphed in the past, and put in some decent laps in an F1 Cooper. He decided not to race, but only after some lively tussles.
