Driving an Alf-Francis modified, Walker-entered, 2-liter Mk3, the unobtrusive veteran set a new record while winning against the might of the Grand Prix establishment. The relaxed, gallant \u201cPetoulet\u201d spent the race quietly and very consistently working through the five-car Ferrari onslaught, which saw some very spirited efforts on the part of the defending drivers.
