I wrote a book on the history of March, which came out in 1989 under the title, \u201cFour Guys And A Telephone.\u201d A telephone was all that Robin Herd, Graham Coaker, Alan Rees and Max Mosley had when they agreed to establish March. They then each put in \u00a32,500 as start-up capital and started building racing cars.<\/p>\n

A factory was secured in Bicester, near Oxford, and the planning application said \u201cwarehouse\u201d to bat off any objections. Twenty years, and nearly 1,500 racing cars later, the factory was still a warehouse, officially.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
