\"\"<\/a>During the 1960s, it was not uncommon for successful motorcycle racers to eventually make their way into the four-wheeled racing world. The list of successful transplants includes names like John Surtees, Joe Leonard and the focus of this month\u2019s featured Web site, Mike \u201cThe Bike\u201d Hailwood.<\/p>\n

Mike Hailwood competed on motorcycles from 1961-1967 and in that time amassed an amazing nine World Championships and fourteen victories in the dangerous Isle of Man T.T. After having won nearly everything that motorcycle racing had to offer, Mike turned his attention to racecars, where he took the newly formed Surtees team to an F2 championship, as well as top finishes in F1, F5000 and a third place in the 24-Hours of Le Mans.<\/p>\n
