\"\"<\/a>On June 21-23, HSR-West and the California Speedway hosted, what was for both organizations, their first spectator historic event. A large and diverse field of 283 cars turned up to support the new event, which took place on California Speedway\u2019s 2.8-mile road course that incorporated much of the banked oval.<\/p>\n

More than 5000 spectators showed up over the course of the weekend to watch 12 races each day. Some of the outstanding machinery that took part in this inaugural event included a number of Formula One, F5000, Indy, NASCAR, GTP and Can-Am cars, as well as a large complement of production cars and sports racers. Initial feedback from the track and HSR organizers is that everyone was very pleased with this first year\u2019s event and committed to promoting and expanding it in the coming years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
