After nearly 40 years since its last appearance in an International sports car race, Maserati has recently unveiled its new purpose-built racecar that will contest the FIA International GT Championship.<\/p>\n

Called the MCC (short for Maserati Corse Competizione), this new racecar is based on sibling Ferrari\u2019s Enzo street car and features a 5998 cc V-12 engine, pushrod suspension and a sweeping, aerodynamic body that rests on a carbon-fiber chassis.<\/p>\n

The new MCC began its first shakedown runs at Ferrari\u2019s Fiorano test track in late January, but will make its official public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Immediate plans are for the MCC to take part in some select FIA GT races in the upcoming 2004 championship, with a full-season assault planned for 2005.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
