The first annual International Historic Motorsport Show, held Feb 19\u201321 at Stoneleigh Park near Coventry, proved to be a resounding success. Over 16,000 paying visitors attended the three-day show that included over 400 vendors, an H&H Classic Auction, and special seminars on everything from obtaining FIA Hsitoric licensing to the state of historic racing in the United States, presented by VRJ\u2019s Editor, Casey Annis.<\/p>\n

In addition to the three giant halls of vendor displays and racecars for sale, a live rally stage was organized on the convention grounds outside, in the sunny but chilly February air. Over 2,500 spectators watched 48 drivers demonstrate their driving skills over a specially created one-kilometer route. Some of the rallying stars that took part included Pentti Airikkala, Russell Brookes, Tony Fall, Robin Eyre-Maunsell, Bill Gwynne, David Stokes and reigning FIA Group N Champion Martin Rowe.<\/p>\n

Sir Stirling Moss was on hand to open the first day of the show and quickly commented that, \u201cThis is the best show I have ever been to.\u201d With such a positive re\u00adsponse from vendors and visitors alike, the organizers have already announced that the event will be held again, next February, and that 70 vendors have already signed up.
