Sir Stirling Moss was recently reunited with the diminutive OSCA MT4 that he and Lloyd Ruby drove to an astounding overall victory 50 years ago at Sebring.<\/p>\n
The occasion for this special re\u00adunion was this year\u2019s running of the 12-Hours of Sebring, where Moss was one of an elite class of racing veterans inducted into the Sebring Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n
For the 1954 running of the 12 Hours, Moss was teamed with Bill Lloyd in the Briggs Cunningham-owned 1.5-liter OSCA. Despite major factory efforts from Ferrari and Lancia, the tiny OSCA plodded away and eventually grabbed the overall lead, with Moss driving, when Taruffi\u2019s leading Lancia retired with a seized motor.<\/p>\n
The OSCA, which was on display all weekend in the paddock \u201cGallery of Legends\u201d display, still holds the record for the smallest displacement engine to ever claim an overall victory at Sebring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
