{"id":460206,"date":"2004-06-01T03:08:55","date_gmt":"2004-06-01T10:08:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/\/?p=101432"},"modified":"2024-02-17T05:57:07","modified_gmt":"2024-02-17T05:57:07","slug":"group-c-gtp-racing-returns-to-le-mans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/group-c-gtp-racing-returns-to-le-mans\/","title":{"rendered":"Group C\/GTP Racing Returns to Le Mans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lovers of the fantastic \u201cGroup C\u201d period will be thrilled to hear that Group C\/GTP Racing, the club running these cars in Europe, has teamed up with Motor Racing Legends to run a race on the Saturday morning of the main race at Le Mans in June 2004.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The race is for 40 cars (+4 reserves) with one driver of a maximum of 40 minutes duration, (no refueling) allowing for wheels\/tires to be changed in the event of a late weather change.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As with all Group C\/GTP Rac\u00ading events, entry is by invitation and will be restricted to members who raced in 2003 plus those who have already requested an invitation to run their cars in the 2004 season of individual races.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There will an exciting mix of period cars from the Group C and GTP\/IMSA family, and is likely to in\u00adclude Aston Martin AMR1, Argo, Bardon, Ecosse, EMKA, Jaguar, Lancia, Nissan, Por\u00adsche, Spice, Tiga.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A great spread of the finest period cars from 1984 to 1993 are expected, and the sight of 40 of these cars will undoubtedly reignite the en\u00adthusiasm felt by so many who followed the cars in period, from the famous front-runners to the smaller semi-private teams.
