Founded in 1947 by Raymond Mays and Peter Berthon, its first car, the Type 15, was a complex machine that did not make it to the starting grid until 1949. Under-staffed and under-funded, BRM struggled throughout the \u201950s until it finally won its first Grand Prix in 1959. The \u201960s were feast and famine, with some designs being totally uncompetitive (like the H-16\u2013powered P83), while others, like the P57, carried Graham Hill to the Formula One Championship in 1962. Other sections feature BRM\u2019s various engine programs, as well as accounts of BRM\u2019s lost championships and final year.
