A new European series for under-2-liter Touring Cars will be inaugurated in 2006. Dubbed the Historic Motor Racing News U2TC, this new series will encourage authentic period cars and high driving standards.<\/p>\n

Cars will have FIA papers, run on L- or M-section Dunlop tires, with genuine unmodified cars having entry priority. These will be two-driver races of a minimum of one hour at venues such as Zandvoort, Pau, Dijon, Donington, etc., with an end-of-the season three-hour finale race. Remember the great Alfa-BMW battles, the Cortina duels? The nimble Minis running away with the race in the rain? This will be the spirit of the series.<\/p>\n
