Over 64,000 members of the public and 26,000 trade visitors packed the halls of the NEC for the annual Racing Car Show, held January 12\u201314 in Birmingham, England. Historic racing interests were given a higher priority than in previous years with a huge area set aside for a display representing \u201c100 Years of Grand Prix Racing,\u201d presented by Tom Wheatcroft\u2019s Donington Collection. Twenty-two racecars from the Donington Collection and a number of other privately owned Grand Prix machines made this the show\u2019s strongest attraction. Famous cars included Tazio Nuvolari\u2019s Maserati 8CM (pictured above) and the Lotus 18\/21 Climax in which Stirling Moss won the 1961 Monaco Grand Prix.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This event also marked the official unveiling of Lola\u2019s \u201ccontinuation\u201d T70 MkIIIB (pictured below), the fabulous coupe of the late 1960s. There was considerable interest in the new car and orders were taken for the first small batch to be produced.<\/p>\n
