You look at 750 and think \u201cMike\u2019s making that up.\u201d I wrote A\u2013Z of Sports Cars, 1945\u20131990, and when I embarked on the commission I thought there may have been 200 makers. I was wrong. Bristol just goes on, yet nobody with whom I\u2019ve discussed Bristol cars can imagine the profile of the average buyer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Perhaps that\u2019s a clue; the buyers are not average people. They have to be wealthy\u2014prices in the UK range from \u00a3140,000 to \u00a3256,000\u2014yet they are discreet. You buy a Ferrari or a Rolls-Royce, and you make a statement.
