On Saturday, June 10, 2006, the Canadian Motorsport Museum and Hall of Fame officially opened at their new premises on the second floor of Peter Klutt\u2019s Legendary Motor Cars near Milton, Ontario.<\/p>\n

The visitors to the newly opened Hall were able to view the latest acquisition to the museum, the Scott Goodyear Lola T9200, which in 1992, finished 2nd in the closest finish in Indy 500 history. The car was purchased by MacKenzie Financial and was presented to the Hall by Goodyear at the annual Hall of Fame Gala in February 2006. Visitors also were able to view the other valuable cars in the museum collection among which is the Wolf WR1 in which Jody Scheckter won the Argentine and Canadian Grands Prix.<\/p>\n

Opening day festivities also included a reunion of the participants of the Golden Years of Stock Car Racing in Ontario, organized by Hall of Fame board member Nate Salter. Numerous former stock car drivers attended, among whom was Hall of Famer Wallie Branston. Wally in addition to his championship-driving career, spent many years as the official starter at Mosport.<\/p>\n
