Horsman was first hired, as a young engineer, by racing impresario John Wyer. Horsman began his career sorting out gearbox problems on the Aston Martin DB4, but soon found himself working on the famed Aston Martin \u201cProject 215\u201d cars. From that point on, Horsman\u2019s career went from strength to strength, including work on the GT40, the GT40-based Mirage, the Porsche 917 and later the American-based Mirage team. In a racing career that spanned more than 20 years, Horsman worked with all the greats including Wyer, Bell, Hailwood, Schuppan, Hobbs, Ickx, Redman, Rodriguez, Siffert and the Andrettis (Mario and Michael).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In \u201cRacing in the Rain,\u201d Horsman, in his own words, recalls the cars, drivers and races of those heady years in sports cars racing, with a tremendous amount of insight, humor and frank honesty. This book is a fascinating insider\u2019s look into both this period of sports car racing and the personalities that made it so memorable.\u00a0If there is a criticism to be made of this fine book, it is the choice to print it on uncoated paper stock, which hurts the definition and reproduction quality of the supporting photos.
