Among the many professional drivers enlisted was David Piper. He lost his leg during the filming, which gave McQueen the idea to call the film a \u201cbloodbath.\u201d To me the Le Mans film is made for enthusiasts of GT racing, who can imagine the difficulties to make such a film. It is not for people who do not know anything about racecars or Le Mans.
