The Silverstone Classic, to be held July 28\u201330, on the 3.1-mile Grand Prix circuit will feature an impressive roster of drivers and cars spanning from the \u201930s to the \u201980s. Aston Martin is the featured marque this year and there is an extensive racing schedule over the weekend. Over 600 cars are already entered for dozens of races, with the addition this year of a spectacular field of Group C cars.<\/p>\n
Le Mans champion Derek Bell will be one of many drivers taking part in the Group C event. Bell and the Porsche 956 and 962, his first and last works cars, were on hand for the Silverstone Classic Press Day, driven by Bell, owner Henry Pearman and Vintage Racecar\u2019s European Editor.<\/p>\n
Aston Martin will have a number of DBR9, DBRS9 and prototype racecars taking part in the July event in addition to providing course cars, and there will be a celebrations of 50 years of Aston\u2019s DBR1.<\/p>\n
Sir Stirling Moss and Sir Jackie Stewart are only two of many racing greats who will star at the English circuit in July. Moss continues to race actively and will be in the one-hour race for pre-war sports cars. A display of over 1,000 rare cars will also support the many races.<\/p>\n
