McLaren’s ‘Long Tail’ supercars showcase the best of the carmaker’s engineering brilliance<\/a> and capabilities. It is an exclusive family with only four members spanning over two decades. It all began in 1997 with the McLaren F1 GTR Long Tail, a development of the McLaren F1 GTR that dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995, placing first, third, fourth and fifth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It would take another 20 years before McLaren would release the next one – the highly acclaimed McLaren 675LT. The 675LT is widely regarded as one of the best McLaren supercars.\u00a0<\/span>Top Gear<\/span><\/a>\u00a0even rates it ahead of the more modern and faster 765LT in terms of pure driving engagement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The hardcore McLaren 675LT is based on the 650S. Designed with lessons from McLaren’s GT3 racing program, the 675LT is more track-focused, with notable improvements in aerodynamics, handling and overall performance. Exterior design highlights include carbon fibre bumpers and fenders, aggressive diffusers and a large active rear wing that not only helps with downforce but also serves as an air brake.<\/span><\/p>\n

A 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 supplies power, which cranks out an impressive 675 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. That power is channelled to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 675LT is only 88 lbs (40 kg) heavier than the coupe variant. Yet, it can still hit 60 mph in less than 3 seconds on the way to a 203 mph top speed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The grey coat of the 675LT featured here is complemented by an orange and black interior finished with Alcantara trimmings. Some of the car’s configurations include carbon-ceramic brakes, soft-close doors, front-axle lift, cruise control and an electric rear-view mirror.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The McLaren 675LT also boasts the optional carbon fibre trim on the exterior. The lightweight material is used for the side skirts, aide air intakes, wing mirrors, rear diffuser and even the McLaren badge.<\/span><\/p>\n

The odometer shows about 5,493 miles (8,840 km), but it’s been well maintained by a McLaren dealership in Geneva, Switzerland. Limited to just 500 units, the 675LT further stands out with a long list of options, making it a value addition to any supercar collector with an eye for styling elegance and uncompromising performance.<\/span><\/p>\n
