The Spider is the convertible counterpart of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/2019-ferrari-488-pista-ferraris-most-powerful-v8-ever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">488 Pista<\/a> coupe and features a removable hardtop, some argue it functions more like a targa top vehicle. Ferrari also announced that the new 488 Pista Spider would mark the 50th convertible model in the company&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of performance, the Spider mirrors the coupe, sharing the same twin-turbocharged 3.9L V8 engine. Despite a 100kg weight penalty due to the electronically-mechanized retractable roof and its components, the Spider achieves identical performance as the coupe, with a 0-100 km\/h time of 2.85 seconds and a top speed of 340 km\/h with the top up.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the roof, the Spider visually distinguishes itself from the coupe with a range of unique aerodynamic enhancements, necessary changes to ensure the Spider remains competitive with its fixed-top variant on the racetrack. The Spider also features its own special livery.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@AutoTopnl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AutoTopNL<\/a>, a Dutch YouTube channel, recently got their hands on a Ferrari 488 Pista Spider and gave us a glimpse of what it can do when pushed to the limits on the German Autobahn.
