It harks back to the first overall Porsche victory at the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally \u2013 which also represents the first use of the all-wheel drive system in a Porsche 911. To commemorate this achievement, the new 911 Dakar will be offered with an optional Rallye Design Package inspired by the iconic winning car of 1984.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Porsche 992 Dakar<\/a>\u00a0is a high riding crossover coupe designed for off-roading. Its ride height is exactly 50mm higher than a 911 Carrera model equipped with Sport Suspension. Aside from that, the Dakar has a standard lift system that allows its front and rear to rise up by another 30mm \u2014 giving it a level of ride height and ramp-over angles that are similar to conventional SUVs we see on the road.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It has all-terrain Pirelli tyres with a tread depth of 9mm and were made using reinforced sidewall and two carcass layers \u2014 making them suitable for off-road trips. The Dakar is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo Boxer engine that makes 473 hp and 420 lb.-ft. and drives all four wheels. It also comes with different driving modes to provide you extra capability when driving off-road.<\/p>\n
