RM Sotheby’s is thrilled to offer five legendary Ferraris at their upcoming DARE TO DREAM COLLECTION<\/a> auction scheduled to take place on May 31 to June 1. So called the “Big Five'” by enthusiasts, these cars are considered by many to be the most coveted production cars to come out of Maranello.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

1985 Ferrari 288 GTO<\/a> – Estimate: $3,750,000 – $4,000,000<\/h3>\n

The Ferrari 288 GTO<\/a>, a high-performance limited edition car, was Ferrari’s top-of-the-line model in the mid-1980s. It was based on the 308 but had a more powerful engine, racing parts, and a wider body. Only 272 were built, making them valuable collectibles today.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This particular 288 GTO was owned by Italian businessman Emilio Gnutti and later by golfer Ian Poulter. It has been well-maintained and it joined the Dare To Dream Collection in 2015 recently before undergoing mechanical restoration. It is offered with 26,617 km (16,539 miles) on the odometer.<\/p>\n

1990 Ferrari F40<\/a> – Estimate: $2,750,000 – $3,250,000\"\"<\/a><\/h3>\n

The Ferrari F40<\/a>, unveiled in 1987, was a road-legal race car built to celebrate Ferrari’s 40th anniversary. It was based on the 288 GTO Evoluzione but lacked luxuries for pure driving pleasure. The aluminum, carbon fiber, and Kevlar bodywork was lightweight and housed a powerful twin-turbocharged V8 engine. With a top speed of 201 mph, the F40 was the fastest car in the world at the time.<\/p>\n

This particular F40 is one of the most desirable versions, lacking the catalytic converters and adjustable suspension that came on later models. It has only 1,606 kilometers and has been meticulously maintained by specialists. This exceptionally preserved “non-cat, non-adjust” F40 is a prime example of Ferrari’s iconic 1990s supercar.<\/p>\n

1996 Ferrari F50<\/a> – Estimate: $3,800,000 – $4,500,000\"\"<\/a><\/h3>\n

The Ferrari F50<\/a> is a head-turning hypercar built from 1995 to 1997. It combined classic 1950s looks with cutting-edge racing technology. The lightweight car had a removable soft top or a hard top, giving drivers the open-air feel or a more enclosed ride. A powerful V12 engine launched the F50 from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. It had racing-style brakes and a luxurious interior with leather seats and air conditioning.<\/p>\n

Only 349 F50s were ever made, making them highly collectible today. This particular F50 is a well-maintained European-specification car with only 12,993 miles. It comes with its original hard top, soft top, tools, and owner’s manuals.<\/p>\n

2003 Ferrari Enzo<\/a> – Estimate: $3,750,000 – $4,250,000\"\"<\/a><\/h3>\n

This Ferrari Enzo<\/a> is one of the first delivered in the US, having debuted at the 2003 Cavallino Classic. It’s finished in classic red with a black leather interior and was originally owned by the prominent Caiola family.<\/p>\n

The car has only 3,000 miles and has been meticulously maintained throughout its life. Recent services include a new windshield, oil pump, water pump, and suspension components. It also comes with a fitted luggage set, an extra set of wheels and tires, and all the original paperwork.<\/p>\n

2015 Ferrari LaFerrari<\/a> – Estimate: $3,850,000 – $4,250,000\"\"<\/a><\/h3>\n

The LaFerrari<\/a>, unveiled in 2013, lives up to its name \u2013 “The Ferrari.” This aerodynamically sculpted car with a Formula One-inspired cockpit boasts a powerful hybrid engine. The LaFerrari is built with a lightweight carbon-fiber tub, making it lower and more stable than previous models. Only 499 coupes were produced, making them highly collectible.<\/p>\n

A mid-mounted V12 engine delivers incredible horsepower, while an electric motor provides additional power and improves acceleration. Combined, they launch the LaFerrari from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.4 seconds.<\/p>\n

This particular LaFerrari, finished in red with black leather interior, is a rare find. It has only 1,766 miles and has been meticulously maintained by authorized Ferrari dealers. It also comes with a factory charger, luggage, and tools.<\/p>\n
