After the Lamborghini Miura, which is considered to be the first supercar in the world, and the legendary Lamborghini Countach, it seems the Diablo is quickly becoming the next classic when it comes to V12 flagship models from Sant’ Agata, Italy. Prices for the successor to the Countach are quickly rising, and this sinister-looking Lamborghini Diablo SV from 1998 is now worth about $600,000, and while many of the Diablo models were the VT, 6.0 VT or Roadster, which all came with four-wheel drive, the SV, or Sport Veloce, came with rear-wheel-drive only, on one hand to safe weight, on the other hand to be more of a ‘real driver’s car’ compared to the VT variants.<\/p>\n

The car in these photos and the video below is a black-on-black model with a 510 hp naturally aspirated V12 engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission with just 24,200 Miles on the counter, and she’s for sale at CarsAndBids.com<\/a> in case you are interested, note that this is the US-Spec version with both driver and passenger airbag fitted, chassis number ZA9DU21B7WLA12955, and features the massive SV decal on both sides, the same script is replicated on the headrests of the car next to the Raging Bull logo, a really nice touch.<\/p>\n

Also note that the Diablo SV comes with a bespoke front bumper, bespoke wheels in a beautiful five-spoke design, usually finished in black, and an adjustable rear wing as standard, at first finished in satin black, later color-coded to the car’s exterior color. But probably one of the most recognizable design elements on the Diablo SV, apart from the giant lettering on the side, are the two air intakes mounted on the engine cover, peaking above the roof, something that would return on the even rarer Lamborghini Diablo SE30 JOTA, but the SV used them first, and they are functional, not just for show.<\/p>\n
