The Lotus Evija X isa one-off prototype electric vehicle (EV) designed specifically for achieving a record lap time around N\u00fcrburgring<\/a>, also known as the Green Hell, a racetrack notorious for its difficulty.<\/p>\n

The Evija X boasts over 2,000 horsepower and 4,500 kg of downforce. While based on the Evija road car<\/a>, it features significant modifications to handle the extreme demands of the N\u00fcrburgring. These include a heavily reworked cooling system, competition tires, and carbon-ceramic brakes.<\/p>\n

It managed to be come the third fastest car around N\u00fcrburgring<\/a>, so it should be able to conquer the Goodwood hill climb easily. Unfortunately though, that didn’t happen as the Evija X lost control and crashed immediately right after leaving the starting line.<\/p>\n

It’s still no clear what caused the accident which destroyed its front end, but thankfully its driver walked away from the incident with no apparent injuries.<\/p>\n
