The Vector brand, founded in 1971 by Gerald Wiegart, initially promoted its first prototype, the W2, in the late 1970s, with the production of the twin-turbocharged W8 commencing in 1989. The development of the W8\u2019s successor, the WX-3, faced setbacks when Megatech acquired Vector Aeromotive and removed Wiegart, who retained the design copyrights for the WX-3 prototype.<\/p>\n

Following Megatech\u2019s acquisition of Lamborghini in 1994, the company used the Diablo\u2019s platform to develop the M12<\/a>. This was the first vehicle produced after Megatech’s takeover of Vector from Jerry Wiegert. The M12 featured a chassis extended to accommodate carbon-reinforced fiberglass bodywork similar to the WX-3 coupe.<\/p>\n
