Under Geely’s ownership, Lotus has embraced electrification, moving away from its traditional focus on lightweight, agile sports cars. To balance this shift with its heritage, Lotus introduced the Theory 1 concept car<\/a>. This concept embodies the “Lotus Theory,” blending digital, natural, and analog engineering to chart a new course for future models.<\/p>\n

The Theory 1 features an all-wheel-drive system, powered by a 70 kW battery offering up to 250 miles of electric range. With 1,000 horsepower, it accelerates from 0-62 mph in under 2.5 seconds. True to Lotus’s lightweight ethos, the car is made from recycled materials like carbon fiber, polycarbonate, and cellulose composites.<\/p>\n

The car\u2019s design draws inspiration from Lotus’s Formula 1 legacy, showcasing bold elements like a rear diffuser, laser headlights, and an air-channeling body. Inside, it maintains a minimalist feel despite advanced technology, featuring a central driver’s seat and “motor skins” in the seats that offer haptic feedback.<\/p>\n
