First and second were the Shelby-American cars driven by McLaren and Amon, and Miles and Hulme. They fought out the closest ever finish to the great race, the winning margin being, \u201cofficially\u201d judged to be, just 8 meters.\u2002However, the car depicted is the gold-colored 3rd place car, entered by Holman &amp; Moody \/ Essex Wire Corp,\u2002driven by Ronnie Bucknam and Dick Hutcheson. It finished some 12 laps behind the other two cars.
