The invitation comes as a result of the huge success of the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy for pre-1956 sports cars, which Motor Racing Legends launched in 2006.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIt is a great honor to be asked to participate in Italy\u2019s greatest historic race meeting,\u201d says Motor Racing Legends Chairman, Duncan Wiltshire. \u201cOur existing Woodcote Trophy competitors are sure to be thrilled at the thought of racing on the fabulous circuit at Monza. We also hope that many Italian racers who own genuine fifties sports cars running to the correct period specification will join us for what promises to be a highlight of 2008.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This round of the Woodcote Trophy will be called the Coppa Supercortemaggiore, in recognition of the Supercortemaggiore races held at Monza in 1954, 1955, and 1956. While the Woodcote Trophy is for sports cars built until the end of 1955, the race at Monza will additionally include a full \u201cSupercortemaggiore\u201d class for sports racers built in 1956.
