Seller Comments:<\/strong> “This\u00a0Mexico is in beautiful condition throughout.\u00a0 In fact, it’s the nicest one I’ve ever seen. I believe\u00a0the chances of finding a nicer Maserati Mexico are very slim, so if you are a collecting cars in superb condition, or want a superior example to drive, I\u00a0strongly suggest that you consider this car. You simply can’t\u00a0pay $45,000 for a good driver\u00a0Mexico and make it this nice for the\u00a0difference between that price and my reserve.\u00a0It has all the desirable options- air conditioning, power steering, and Borrani wire wheels. The paint is in very nice condition other than a few flaws that are so small they won’t show in photos.\u00a0 The chrome and bright work are in excellent condition, as are the wire wheels. The interior leather is in very nice condition, except for some slight wear in the driver’s seat. The carpet and wood are also in excellent condition.\u00a0 Mechanically the car runs and drives very well, with no apparent flaws. Odometer reads 74290 kilometers which translates into about 46,000 miles.”<\/p>\n

“S\/n 1987 GT still has the original Marchall headlights, all original lenses and everything works: the overdrive, the turn signals, the backup light, everything! Runs and drives very well. Excellent synchros, excellent original suspension and no smoke! Perfect for the Colorado Grand and other touring events.”<\/p>\n

SCD Comments:<\/strong> The Maserati Mexico is a\u00a0sharp-looking coupe designed by Vignale.\u00a0 Production of the Mexico between 1966 and 1973 totaled 482, not 250 as seller states, with the majority being 4.2-liter versions, making this 4.7-liter version more valuable.<\/p>\n

With\u00a0the same\u00a04.7 liter V-8 motor as the Ghibli,\u00a0Mexicos offer strong performance and the ability to accommodate four people\u00a0in well-appointed comfort. They are fantastic grand touring cars.<\/p>\n

As an aside, take a look at the photo below of the burgundy Iso Rivolta, as the similarities between these two cars are uncanny. The same can also be said about the Gordon Keeble and Alfa Romeo 2600 \u2013 they are all brothers from a different mother. Interestingly, the Iso Rivolta, Gordon Keeble and Alfa were designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone, while the Maserati was designed by Vignale.<\/p>\n

Market:<\/strong> The 2008 May \u2013 August Cars That Matter<\/em> Price Guide advocates a $34,000 – $62,000 range. Given the condition of this car and recent transactions, we would give more weight to the latter price range. <\/p>\n
