Built as an exclusive Grand Touring car, each Aceca featured a new curved windshield and hinged rear hatch.<\/p>\n<p>The front-end styling of the Ace and Aceca reportedly traces back to a design done by Pinin Farina for AC in the late 40s. The curves are exquisitely executed along the long &#8220;bonnet&#8221; and around the headlights and simple grill. Exceptional light weight (owing to tubular frame, aluminum engine block and aluminum body panels), large 16&#8243; spoked wheels, and almost perfect weight distribution allowed exceptional handling.<\/p>\n<p>About 320 Acecas were completed before both it and the Ace were replaced by the potent AC Cobra.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1959 AC Aceca For Sale<!--more--><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Details: <\/strong>Listed for sale on<a href=\"http:\/\/cgi.ebay.com\/ebaymotors\/ws\/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;ih=014&amp;sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&amp;viewitem=&amp;item=330234669529&amp;rd=1\"> eBay<\/a>; located in Illinois. The Aceca is currently bid to $51,095 with five days left on the auction. The current bid does not meet the seller&#8217;s reserve. Seller <a href=\"http:\/\/northshoresportscars.com\/\">Northshore Imports<\/a> is asking $94,995 on their website.<\/p>\n<p>&gt;<strong>Seller Comments:<\/strong> &#8220;This is an original, unrestored, running, driving specimen equipped with the AC six cylinder 3.0 litre motor and 4 speed transmission. The mileage showing is 10,021 but not claimed as original.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Recent mechanical restoration included engine bottom end rebuild, carbs, brakes, wire harness, cooling system, correct 16 inch Michelin X tyres. The car is complete with engine crank, grease gun, front &amp; rear bumpers, and owner&#8217;s manual. This car has been driven nearly six thousand miles in the past two years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sports Car Digest Comments:<\/strong> The 2008 <em>Sports Car Market<\/em> price guide suggests a $60,000 &#8211; $85,000 price range for a AC Aceca, while the May \u2013 August 2008 <em>Cars That Matter<\/em> price guide advocates a $75,200 &#8211; $128,000 range.<\/p>\n<p>This seemingly very original AC Aceca has a great look and patina. While we do appreciate the original condition and lines, we think the $95k asking price is better left for a completely restored Aceca.
