However, Taylor earned his spot in Formula One by sharing the 1960 Formula Junior Championship, with Clark, at the wheel of a Lotus 18 [see this month\u2019s Racecar Profile], and winning the 1961 championship in his own right. Recently, Mike Jiggle sat down with Taylor to discuss his meteoric rise up the Formula Junior ranks, and his relationship with Clark and Chapman.<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b><i>Trevor, you had two very successful seasons in 500-cc racing in 1957, finishing 3rd in the championship, and Champion in 1958. Formula 3, 500-cc racing, however was on the decline.
