\"Goodwood<\/a>The 2008 Goodwood Revival came to a close over the weekend, as 124,000 visitors enjoyed the unique atmosphere over three days of exciting racing and wonderful nostalgia, taking visitors back to the 40s, 50s and 60s and the romance of motor racing as it used to be.<\/p>\n

This year was a very special one for motor sport at Goodwood, as not only did the Revival celebrate its tenth anniversary, but the famous West Sussex motor circuit also marked its 60th anniversary, since the very first post-War motor race meeting was held in the UK in September 1948.<\/p>\n

In addition to the race winners, the following awards were given out by Lord March:<\/p>\n

The Freddie March Spirit of Aviation<\/strong> award was won by Tony and Pia Bianchi for their wonderful Spitfire Mk1, Tony having raced at the meeting in his Farrelac-Allard.<\/p>\n

The Fastest Lap by a Lady Driver<\/strong> prize went to former DTM and F3 star Claudia Huertgen who recorded 1:28.397 in the Ferrari 250 ‘Breadvan’. Simon Hadfield managed the fastest lap of the meeting<\/strong> with 1:20.476 in his Lola T70 Spider.<\/p>\n

The winner of the Will Hoy Memorial Trophy<\/strong> for the greatest drive in a closed cockpit car was double F1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi for his sterling efforts during his maiden outing at the Revival.<\/p>\n

Ian Nuthall Racing thoroughly deserved to win the Best Presented Team<\/strong> award. TecMec racer Barry Baxter was a worthy recipient of the Spirit of Goodwood Award<\/strong>, as he stopped his own car at the scene of Jochen Mass’ unfortunate incident and ran back down the track to help remove the stricken German ace from the car. Last but not least, the Rolex Driver of the Meeting <\/strong>award went to Peter Hardman.<\/p>\n
