Set against the San Diego Bay, the 2008 Coronado Speed Festival was held September 27th \u2013 28th on a 1.7 mile course on the runways and taxiways of Naval Air Station North Island.<\/p>\n

Over 20,000 spectators gathered for the 11th annual vintage races held on the make-shift and well-loved NAS, North Island racetrack. Vintage racing fans took a step back in time as they visited the garage area to see their favorite vintage racers. Additionally, there were other sights to behold, including the massive Meguiar’s Car Club Corral, plus the Navy’s vintage and modern jets and helicopters.<\/p>\n

“We couldn’t be happier with this year’s turnout,” said Larry Blumberg, Chair of the Coronado Speed Festival Committee. “With more passionate racers and fans showing their support each year, Speed Fest continues to be a success.”<\/p>\n
