Plans to resuscitate the sport sedan series that was euthanized after its 40th season in 2005 were announced at mid-December\u2019s Performance Racing Industry trade show in Orlando, Florida.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The revived series, which will require cars to conform to SCCA Club Racing GT1 specifications, will be sponsored by Muscle Milk, a powdered protein supplement marketed by CytoSport, the California company owned by series stalwart Greg Pickett.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe re-birth of Trans-Am,\u201d said SCCA president and CEO Jim Julow, \u201cbegins in 2009 with a grassroots-based series that has the potential to grow in the coming years into a full professional racing series.
