The sale of an unprecedented private collection of historic American racing cars, vintage hot rods and custom show cars will be presented by RM Auctions. This one-day auction event, billed as Icons of Speed & Style is set for September 26, 2009, at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California.<\/p>\n

Approximately 80 vehicles and several lots of period hot rod and ‘kustom kulture’ memorabilia will be offered “without reserve.” The eclectic collection represents the owner’s enthusiasm for and life long love of cars and its offering will be an once-in-a-lifetime buying opportunity for collectors.<\/p>\n

“Each of these cars on offer are cultural icons of the roads and race tracks of America because they encompass every aspect of American engineering, racing ingenuity and cutting edge customization”, said Ian Kelleher, President and COO of RM Auctions.<\/p>\n

Legendary cars such as the famous Dodge “Little Red Wagon” Drag Truck, the dominating Ray Allen LS6 Chevelle Convertible, “Big John” Mazmanian’s Corvette gasser, the original “Road Agent” show car by Ed “Big Daddy” Roth as well as famous customs from the Ayala Brothers, Sonny Mazza, the Alexander Brothers, George Barris, Daryl Starbird and Boyd Coddington will be on offer.<\/p>\n
