It has had an impressive competition career in anyone\u2019s language. In simple number of wins it\u2019s up there with some of the greatest racing cars of all time. Plus, like so many other old racing cars, it was close to oblivion when it came upon its use-by date but, thanks to the gathering interest in historic motor sport and one individual in particular, the \u201cGrey Pussy\u201d survives and continues to thrive.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s probably in our psyche, but when Australians view something or someone with affection we like to give it a nickname or name of affection. It goes for people as it does for objects, so our most famous cricketeer, the late Sir Donald Bradman, was\u2014and still is\u2014known to generations as \u201cThe Don.\u201d Then, when well-known Australian motoring journalist David McKay imported a new Jaguar 3.4-liter Saloon back in mid-1958 and met with immediate competition success, it was soon given the name of the \u201cGrey Pussy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
