By some accounts as many as 12 were built, but some believe six or even fewer cars were actually delivered.\u201d While this statement remains as true as ever, this month\u2019s Hidden Treasure takes us one step closer to solving the Kurtis 500X puzzle.<\/p>\n<p>The 500X was introduced in 1955 and was a significant departure from the other sports cars Frank Kurtis was building at the time. Unlike the 500S, M, and KK which were all built on similar ladder frames, the X was designed on an all-new space frame.
