The Pre-1963 GT racing class was a fan favorite at the 2009 Silverstone Classic, as it included everything from Ferrari 250 GT SWBs and Aston Martin DB4GT and Zagatos to AC Aces, Alfa SZs and Giuliettas, Morgans, Lotus Elites and MGAs.<\/p>\n

The race celebrated the era when GT cars were designed to be enjoyed on the road and raced on the track. The field was open by invitation to GT cars built and homologated before January 1st 1963, with adherence to the period homologation papers rigidly enforced, particularly with regard to tire and wheel dimensions and ride height.<\/p>\n

Max Werner took top honors in the Stirling Moss Trophy Race in his famed Ferrari 250 GT SWB ‘Breadvan,’ starting on pole and setting fastest lap on the way to a comfortable win over a bevy of SWB Ferraris and the Graham\/Attwood Aston Martin DB4 GT.<\/p>\n
