\"\"<\/a>Worldwide Auctioneers held The Auburn Auction<\/em> on Saturday, September 5th, 2009 at the Worldwide Headquarters in Auburn, Indiana. The second annual event, as part of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Weekend, featured 80 cars for the single-day sale.<\/p>\n

Top auction sales went to a peerless 1942 Chrysler Windsor Town & Country \u201cBarrel Back\u201d Nine Passenger Station Wagon, which sold for a record breaking $440,000<\/p>\n

and a multiple award-winning 1937 Packard Twelve Convertible Sedan, hammering sold for $344,000. Another Woody, the exquisitely presented 1947 Chrysler New Yorker Town & Country Convertible, also made history, fetching an outstanding $264,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur stated objective in launching The Auburn Auction was to bring the great cars back to Auburn, said Rod Egan, Managing Partner & Chief Auctioneer. We are proud once again, to have delivered on that promise and indeed to have broken another couple of records in the process. Worldwide offered 80 cars for sale, with 33 finding new owners, reflecting a 41% sale rate. The total sales volume was $2,446,290 and the average price per car sold was $74,130.<\/p>\n

In 2008, Worldwide sold 52 of 80 cars offered (65% sales rate) for total sales of $9,764,683. The average price per car sold was $187,782.<\/p>\n
