There was a time when I lived nearby and, in 1983, I reported on every meeting. At a Saturday \u201cclubbie\u201d I was the whole press corps and a tenth of the crowd. It remains my most enjoyable year in motor racing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the war, there were no motor racing circuits on the British mainland.\u00a0 There were, however, many disused military airfields.
